Summary: Current and former employees of 3M Co. filed a lawsuit charging the company with discriminating against employees 45 years old and older. “The suit, which seeks class action status, charges that since 3M adopted a quality measure and improvement program called ‘Six Sigma,’ it has discriminated against older employees in areas including performance reviews, training, promotions and pay.” The law firm Sprenger & Lang further explained in a press release that 3M’s performance review system disproportionately downgrades older employees.
